Young entrepreneur Stuart Maitland, 21, from Newcastle has been crowned Britainís Top Real Role Model 2013 (BTRRM) by one of the global leaders in direct selling Amway. The competition, now in its third year, aimed to uncover the nationís most inspiring young entrepreneur, awarding them a £5,000 prize to help support their start-up business venture.

Facing some fierce competition from some of the UKís most promising young entrepreneurs, Stuart convinced the BTRRM judging panel that he had the attitude, passion, determination and ambition to be an inspiring role model. His medical app company, mHealthful demonstrated both his business creativity and that he was a keen advocator of change, all key elements the judging panel were looking out for. The company specialises in creating medical apps for patients and healthcare professionals and aims to significantly improve the quality of healthcare through mobile solutions.

Currently studying Medicine at the University of Newcastle, Stuartís medical training skills inspired mHealthfulís first venture, UniWikis, a collaborative medical education website and mobile app that allows medical students to add and edit each otherís notes, supported by leading medical textbook publishers and insurers. Stuart says of winning this yearís campaign: "I am delighted to have won Britainís Top Real Role Model 2013. Since an early age, Iíve held a desire to make a real difference to peopleís lives and now I feel one step closer to achieving this. I hope that by winning this competition I will inspire a new generation of medical entrepreneurs.Ē

Sheryl Franklin-Worth, Corporate Affairs Manager at Amway UK and one of the 2013 judges said: "There were some highly credible entries to the competition this year. I am thrilled that the campaign can inspire a generation of young entrepreneurs and Stuart is a real role model for enterprise. His work ethic and what he strives to achieve with mHealthful really reflects Amway's goal of inspiring a change in enterprise. A throughouly deserving winner!Ē
